Another staggering piece of evidence can be
found in Antiquity. One of the most important contributions of Rome to
the modern system of measurement was the division of the foot into 12
units called inches. Our entire civilization was built in direct physical relationship to our
feet: here is how the evil alien parasite worked out the ground rules
for building its wicked empire: five feet equaled one pace (a pace being
one double step), 1, 000 paces equaled one mile, which, now understanding distance,
gave our feet the ability to build roads. These roads were used by
feet to travel great distances in order to meet, conspire, exchange ideas, and
make war with other feet.
